About the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club

The San Francisco Bay Chapter is a local Chapter of the Sierra Club, America's largest and most effective grassroots environmental organization. The Bay Chapter is comprised of the the 30,000 Sierra Club members who live in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Francisco counties.
Each of the eight local groups is led by volunteer members. You can view the current volunteer leadership roster here.

We are located one block South of Dwight Way in the Ecology Center building.
Public Transit Access
From anywhere along San Pablo Avenue, take the AC Transit 72 (regular, M or R), getting off at Dwight Way.
From San Francisco, take BART to Oakland 19th Street station, and catch a north bound 72R on the north west corner of 20th and Broadway. (On weekends and after 7pm take the 72 or 72M.)
From downtown Berkeley, take the 49 B loop ("Counterclockwise") from Berkeley BART to Dwight and San Pablo.
From Ashby BART, take the 49 A loop ("Clockwise").

Bike Tips for Public Transportation
The North Berkeley, Berkeley, and Ashby BART stations are roughly equidistant from the office. The trip from North Berkeley BART has the least traffic. From North Berkeley BART go right on Allston, left on Acton, right on Channing, and left on San Pablo. For bike hours: www.bart.gov.
AC Transit takes bikes to San Pablo and Dwight on routes described above.
