Elect Javandel, Parker, and Lieber in Albany
The Sierra Club has endorsed Farid Javandel for Albany City Council. Adding his endorsement to
those of Robert Lieber and Brian Parker the Club has now endorsed candidates for all three seats
to be elected.
Farid Javandel is a long-time resident of Albany. A traffic engineer by profession, he has
served on the city's Traffic Commission.
Javandel supports the Sierra Club/CESP vision for the Albany waterfront. He shares the Club's
view that Albany's character must be preserved with appropriate development along San Pablo
Avenue, and adjacent to the Eastshore State Park.
The Sierra Club believes that the team of Farid Javandel, Robert Lieber, and Brian Parker will
bring the kind of knowledge and professional experience that Albany needs for facing the future,
especially to deal with the pressures of planning for the future of the waterfront and Golden
Gate Fields.
